Lavandula was displaced from her clan of birth as a hatchling, and ended up in not the Droseran Domain, but at the Pobblebonk Research Academy. There she studied under the essential schooling curriculum. She heard some about the Domain from Nainsi and Mochi. She became curious about the otherworldly things Mochi refused to elaborate on, so took off to learn more herself. She was still only a young fledgling at the time, and was taken in as a greudence*.
When she saw Shaami, she was amazed at just how perfectly she and her sister resembled one another; she was Nainsi's spitting image. She introduced herself to the fellow aether, but Shaami didn't react the way she expected her to upon hearing that Lavandula knew her sister. Rather than excited and interested, she seemed upset, even angry. Lavandula wanted to befriend Shaami, but Shaami... really seemed to dislike her from that point on.
Things weren't perfect for her in the Domain more generally, either. She was not able to be close to the things she was interested in, being a lay member of the congregation and not entitled to get close to the retixs. So she worked diligently as a hunter gatherer... but it was always quite boring to her. She wanted to research more interesting things, didn't want to just go out and find the same prey and plants every day and call that her life.
Despite Shaami's unease around her, Shaami's mate Luna was much more friendly. She worked in the nursery so took care of Lavandula alongside all the other young dragons in the clan without families of their own. Luna shared her curiosity about magic and the rules that made up the world. With Luna's prodding, Shaami came to warm up to Lavandula too, admitting she couldn't help but be jealous to know Nainsi was off being happy without her and making other friends. The two buried the hatchet, and Lavandula started spending a lot of time with the couple. She was a bit too old for the relationship to slide into a parent-child type, but the couple still accepted her into their family, and she started living in their lair.

Current Situation: When Luna established Dewdrop House as the new centre of worship in the Domain, Lavandula moved with her. Lately, she's been focused on establishing a laboratory for herself by it's side.
