Feng's birthname is actually Haitan, but he changed it in order to fit in with the other eyeburners. Despite all of them being a fair bit older, he was drawn in. He had the qualifications - he managed to have all vibrant colours. The eyeburners were a little hesitant to play babysitter with a little coatl hatchling, so he learned how to fit in silently.
His parents were miffed - there were plenty of hatchlings for him to play with, rather than try to pretend to be someone he wasn't. But what did they know?
It's true, he doesn't fit in all that well - they seem to have different jokes and weird activities - but thats probably just because he's young! When he grows up, he'll fit right in. He guarantees it.

As time would tell; he did not magically fit in. He was still the odd one out - being the only single dragon in the group. Everything changed when Fareneheit went on to serve the Shadowbinder - Fun and Fresh retreated to themselves and Frenzy became a little closer to him; now that they were both single men.

Groupless, he wandered back to the coatls and their social hierarchy. After receiving an earful from his mother; they accepted him back in. He had to admit - it was nice being around people he actually could understand. He'd grown up - he dropped the silly orange wings for golden armor that was more fashionable than practical.

Okay; maybe he wasn't /that/ grown up. He was getting there. Slowly.
