Sludge (not his real name) has been around a long time and for his frightening appearance and massive size, somehow manages to remain in the shadows. He came to the lair after a falling out with his father but always speaks kindly of his mother. There's a quiet that surrounds him like the fresh chill of winter, a lack of movement, a listlessness. He is haunted by a long-dead Emperor Imperial, the cold vile spirit of this past dragon shifts within Sludge's soul and robs him of his ability to feel. Some dragons claim they've seen the icy maw of death mockingly shifting along his back but others believe Sludge is Sludge, his quiet and his cold are him, nothing more.
No one has ever asked him about it, or his scars. He claims to be from cold places yet his green eyes betray a heritage far from, again, no one questions the big dark Imperial. Sometimes hatchlings play around his blue claws and he tolerates them so long as they don't run over and mess with his tail, that will earn a growl. He's always been close to a dark Wildclaw named Tracer and is aware of the strange link to his past, his imperial mother and wildclaw father and then he found it in him to feel for a Wildclaw as his mother had.
