Maple started her life alone.

Unlike other water dragons, who hatched from an egg drifting lazily in the Fishspine Reef, Maple's egg had been washed ashore. It instead rested in a tidal pool within the Tsunami Flats, propped up against the lip of one of the giant pools, and just barely noticeable. When the young coatl emerged from her egg, she found herself immediately immersed into a place of diversity. It was here, among the blue pools and the soft sand, that her initial interest in studying the world blossomed.

She spent her days as she grew older observing the many creatures that called the tidal pools their home, and conversing with dragons she met. She helped them dig their caves, and listened to their stories of far off lands and places she could only dream of. Most were happy to share their knowledge with her, and it was this she valued the most.
From a dragon who looked as though they had lived a thousand life times, she caught wind of her first adventure. A place called the Leviathan Trench, where alien fish and foreign plants thrived. It was even beyond the Tidelord's sight, and Maple knew in her heart that she had to go there. She had to learn it's secrets. She had already learned all she could of the Tsunami Flats, and the not too distant Fishspine Reefs.

Her loner nature worked in her advantage. She felt no need to say goodbye to anyone, and so was able to set off for this dangerous place without worrying anyone. Her adventure was brief, but an epic she is always proud to tell. She returned with a new found passion for research, and so decided to leave her home and venture to places she had always just heard of.
She traveled through flames, and plague infested lands. She took samples in darkened forests where unseen things glittered, and an abandoned city in an amazingly bright place. She traveled within whipping winds, and a storm infested desert where she studied lightning and it's uses. She enjoyed the flora of the Gladekeeper's domain, and wondered at the sky pillar stretching into the clouds where the Earthshaker ruled. It wasn't until after she felt the biting cold of the lands covered in snow that she found the place she felt she had always been looking for.

Arcane. A place of scientists, and researchers, who wondered at the stars and craved for all there was to know. With these dragons, Maple found a place she finally felt like she belonged. She had so many stories to tell, and so much to share. Even better, so many were eager to listen! She settled in within a clan where she recorded their history, and all the names and tales there were to hear. She was constantly experimenting, and constantly documenting. Maple didn't regret leaving her home. How could she?

Underneath the falling meteors, and the watchful eye of the observatory, she found a place she belonged.
