A B O U T
There are some stereotypes about wind dragons and spirals, but Quince fits none of them. They move through the world with a level of profound precision and purpose that most other spirals find quite off-putting.

Gustave is one of the few who seems to appreciate the balance against his own tendency toward nervousness. Though Quince doesn’t wear their emotions quite as visibly, they seem to appreciate his presence when he visits the orchard even more than the hand-packed picnics of insects.

Quince’s temperance may have been a factor in Cernunnos allowing them to tend the orchard alongside Cressida–a dragon that had to work much harder for the pearlcatcher’s favor. Luckily, Cressida isn’t much one to take things personally, accepting Quince’s apprenticeship and extra set of claws without qualm. The tundra seems to appreciate having another dragon around, even if Quince is only barely less taciturn than Cernunnos.

With Quince’s assistance, the orchard is now able to produce enough to allow for processing into preserves, which have become an essential part of keeping bellies full during the hibernal season. Though they make a myriad of varieties, Quince seems to have a soft spot for their namesake.

H I S T O R Y
Quince’s sudden transformation into a spiral during their adolescence wasn’t entirely unheard of in the Windswept Plateau, especially following the events of the Crescendo’s disruption. It did leave them very prone to the relentless, anxious energy that frequently manifests in their breed. They taught themself how to temper the impulsiveness and nervousness with strict, self-imposed structure.

This seems to have contributed to fostering a streak of superstition. Quince thrives on routine, struggling to cope with unexpected changes and often interpolating ill omens. They turn to their ancestors and prayers to the Windsinger himself for solace.
