Mastema

A mysterious fellow who came to us in the midst of a dreadful storm. He walked calmly through the screaming wind and pouring rain, unbothered by the chaos around him. The more aware blind were quickly able to recognize him as one of their own, happily inviting him in as had been done with Amitiel. He unnerves the seekers with his harsh stare, rumbling voice, and clipped words, but the seers have great respect for him and the blind treat him as family.

His eyes are always a little glazed, but somehow still so aware. His stare feels like a cold blade to the core of one's own being, able to make skin and scales prickle. All beasts but his familiar avoid him. However, his presence has not brought misfortune, and he is not cruel to anyone, simply stern.

He was the one who suggested the creation of the Vapormasks, and was the one who encouraged his daughter Zihrun to take leadership over it. He hasn't had much presence in her life otherwise. He continues to protect the group as the future grows more and more foggy, refusing to allow the Vapormasks to be imprisoned. It is unknown if he is truly speaking for the unknowable anymore, but none know how to question him (or fear that questioning him would be blasphemous).

Ever since the Vapormasks released the prisoners, though, we are keeping a steadier eye on him. He does not seem to mind this, instead watching us with a knowing look and a smirk. Some are starting to suspect him as a false prophet. Others are growing to accept what they believe is inevitable. No one is sure of what to do.
