Biography
__._ |
She had never been afraid. Not as a hatchling hearing tales of horror from adults, not as an adult hearing rumors from others. Not from the dark, decrepit shadows that lurk everywhere, not from stories nor from dragons that struck fear into the hearts of others. Not even from the Gods. She viewed life as a matter of fate. There was no use, having fear or anger or sadness, over something as fleeting as the present, past, or future. It had all already been decided anyways, everyone was simply following its path. Dragons around her, especially as a child, had worried that she'd been 'Shade-touched', that the Shade had somehow managed to take even her fear from her, leaving her an empty shell. Truth be told, that simply wasn't reality. Why she held no fear for nothing still remains a mystery, but nonetheless, she held no fear for the Shade too. She wasn't afraid when dragons started disappearing, with no traces to be left. Being afraid, she thought, wasn't going to help find them, so she simply remained calm and composed as ever. Searching for clues like everyone else, but finding almost nothing. It seemed to be useless, as the weeks, eventually months, passed without any help. She thought that, perhaps, fate did not want these dragons to be found, and thus they would only be revealed when fate allowed them. Thus, she went back to her humble library, and continued working. She thought nothing more of the disappearing dragons, because she had already tried everything she could, and still, nothing was turning up. She instead decided to turn her attention to more magical means, using runes and chance to see what fate foretold, or wanted her to know. Then, something happened. Years upon years of searching and disappearances, and finally the magic had sensed something out. A large cave, with a rather small opening, barely an hour's walk from the village. Though she was given nothing besides that, she knew immediately that there was where all the dragons had been disappearing to. She told the village chief, who sent her and a giant group of fifty other dragons, all with various skills, to investigate the cave. At first, it didn't seem like something too special. The entrance was a tad hard to fit through for some breeds, but everyone got in safe and sound. After the entrance, it suddenly opened up to a wide drop, and past the wide drop seemed to be an altar, carved with unknown symbols, and reeking of death. She still wasn't afraid, only shocked by the seeming arrogance these kidnappers had. Perhaps they had thought fate would be on their side for the rest of their life, without realizing how much fate likes to change its mind. [TBA] | ___ |

“Fr. O’Malley tells of devil-worship with box found in great Egyptian ruins... Probably got this from deathbed confession of Francis X. Feeney, who had joined Starry Wisdom in ’49. These people say the Shining Trapezohedron shews them heaven & other worlds, & that the Haunter of the Dark tells them secrets in some way."

STARRY WISDOM
Dragonkind is quick to persecute anyone worshiping deities other than Sornieth's eleven, so most assume that "forbidden" worship must be limited to ancient times, beastclans, or insane loners. Evidence is immediately destroyed, and most stories are smothered before gossip can escape. However, cases such as the Starry Wisdom cult reveal that entire congregations secretly worship the Great Old Ones. At its peak, at least 200 dragons abandoned the Tidelord and instead called to Nyarlathotep for visions of the future. Their main ritual object was the Shining Trapezohedron, a multifaceted gemstone of alien origin which they used to summon an avatar for Nyarlathotep out of the Shade. Even though they preformed ritual sacrifices, Starry Wisdom was able to operate in secret for 33 years before their clanmates discovered them and drove them out. Other heretical congregations have survived for even longer by hiding in remote areas or by allowing only relatives to join.
