Quasar

An aloof and rather eccentric dragon, Professor Quasar is nevertheless admired by quite a few in the clan, albeit, in spite of his colorful fashion sense, not known as especially outgoing, friendly or charming. A highly skilled battle mage and healer, additionally an astronomer, and professor of arcane arts with a particular interest in stars and cosmic energies, he is indeed a great expert in his field (though per his students, his teaching skills leave much to be desired). Absent-minded, frequently lost, and awkward in conversation, he is sometimes asked which distant star or planet he himself comes from, to which he just replies a different one that comes to mind each time. Known only to his mate and son, he can get rather fearful from time to time, overwhelmed by the vastness of the cosmic void which may never come close to draconic comprehension. He is, however, reassured by his family's collective protection... and his son offering him candy stars certainly helps, too.

• Among the few dragons Professor Quasar allows in his close circles is his mate, Gauden, head of the clan's scribe guild, who is absolutely head over heels in love with him; he just wishes his Quasi would stop worrying him with his recent frequent excursions to the Forbidden Portal... science, yes, science is very good, but it can't be at the expense of his safety, especially now that he is meant to be retired from combat!
  
• He did, in his day, slay many a beast with his comrades, Marshal and Morningstar, whom he mainly supported as a healer but never shied away from throwing a few bolts himself when needed. Marshal has nothing but respect for the professor; Morningstar, having had frequent verbal clashes with him over some philosophical question or another, will only grudgingly concede that he does, too.
  
• Hecate, currently a professor of combat magic, is a former student and trainee of Quasar's, and both take great pride in this fact.
  
• With his mate, he has adopted a coatl hatchling, Bertie, his pride and joy.
  
• He is on friendly terms with the clan leader Professor Hyacinthe, the two of them finding their shared brand of awkwardness rather refreshing, as well as having academic interests in common.
