Biography
Chosen Mate: None
Good Point: Unwavering loyalty
Bad Point: Has little room for mercy
Role: Wraith
Necromantic Symbol(s): Blades and Armor
General Job: Guard, alongside Alphard. Also serves to make armor and weapons for the entourage.
The words of the Plaguebringer called to him. Though he didn't mind assisting his parents as a blacksmith, Vermilion sought to be more, to be in service of something greater - and what he'd heard of the necromancers and their trials seemed like the perfect fit. And so he traveled from the domain of the Flamebringer, all the way to the lands of Plague.
His strong spirit was something several other aspiring necromancers noticed, seeing him as a real contender - but also as one Mother might give a harder time to, simply to make him work for it. Not that Vermilion would mind. He welcomed the challenge. Success in something considered a trial shouldn't be easy, after all. And so the imperial perched, picking a point ripe for infection.
The first trial came and went fast - but it was the second that went in a different direction than he'd expected. Vermilion expected difficulty, yes, but he didn't expect to be struggling so much with it. Yet for as long as he went on, fighting the infection, he showed no signs of fully succumbing. If anything, the problem was when he actually managed to cure himself - just a few minutes after the 23rd day had dawned. He'd been so cluse.
Declared a wraith, he was sent on his way by the trial watchers. But this would not stop him from serving Mother in some way or another. He still had the gear he'd used to take him here, and he would now use it in service of the Plaguebringer one way or another. He may have not become a necromancer, but his loyalty was still there. It was after some time of going from place to place int he wasteland that he came across Mayu. She'd witnessed him fighting off a virulent one, avoiding infection the entire time with his maneuvers. "Come, join me. Your skills will be valued with me." Seizing the opportunity, the imperial joined up with the oracle and he didn't look back.
Vermilion comes across as stern and serious to newcomers, which is simply a sign of how dedicated to his job he is. His work means the world to him, and he will do anything to see to it that any task givent o him is completed. He is more than capable of working in a group, and frequently works alongside Alphard and anyone else Mayu requests for him to assist. Woe be to all who oppose and don't choose surrender, however - as mercy isn't something that comes often, if ever at all, to the dragon's enemies at the end of a fight. Vermillion will not tolerate traitors, and will run them off if given the chance.
Being born in Fire, it's no surprise his parents are blacksmiths. Vermilion also learned the art of smithing, and so when he's not on active duty he's either making new gear for members of the entourage or maintaining it. Bellatrix and Vermilion occasionally work together on a project, though their personalities don't mesh well enough for them to stay around each other much. He does, however, enjoy the company of Bellatrix's mate and assistant, Caph.
