Sizzle and Sear

Sizzle and Sear serve as the workplace safety inspector for the lightning farm. He is meticulously concerned with safety and search every square inch of the facility every day for potential safety concerns. A bolt out of place, a dragon not wearing proper protective equipment, improper grounding — no matter how petty it may seem, Sizzle and Sear will take it extremely seriously and not rest until the issue is solved. But no matter how seriously he takes safety, his loyalty will always, always be to the lightning farm first.

Nobody understands the importance of safety more than Sizzle and Sear. He was once a blacksmith in the Ashfall Waste, until a horrific incident caused by cutting corners splashed him with lava and left him horrifically burned and injured. Luckily, extensive prosthetics have enabled him to return to his old capabilities, although he was blamed for the incident and fired by the smithy. He was then hired by Iezo, and has vowed to never let anyone go through what he went through.

Although he is a user of cybernetic prosthetics, he stubbornly refuses to be called a cyborg. Perhaps it is a remainder of his upbringing. Most dragons are respectful of this, although on occasion, they do slip up and bring down his wrath upon them. And his wrath is quite terrifying — as a former blacksmith, he is much, much stronger than anyone might expect.

Unlike many Aberrations in the area, who traditionally use plural forms to refer to themselves, Sizzle and Sear are so mentally linked that they are entirely one and the same. They share one mind, and while one head is technically dubbed “Sizzle” while the other is “Sear”, if you call either name, both heads will look up, so most dragons will never figure out which is which. They act, speak, think, and work as one, and are therefore referred to with a singular “he” pronoun.

He was familiar with Resona once; he handled her case after she was maimed. Even after her extensive procedures and paperwork, he noted that she never quite seemed satisfied with the results of her case, and he thinks back to her frequently. He wonders what happened to her. If only he knew that she was right under his very feet at this moment…
