Biography
Mercy wears the kinds of armour that will help keep her hatchlings safe, lines her wings with feathers that will keep them warm in cold waters, and surrounds herself with the dragons that will teach them everything she cannot
if not for Mercy, Atmosphere likely never would have left the Shifting Expanse even once his injury healed, even as he became more and more skilled with his prosthetic leg. but it is Mercy that he fell in love with, and it was their avian masks that guarded their eyes as they followed the ocean currents to the Flintlock Fumaroles
there they found the Fireside Clan, a lair born of little more than family and belonging. countless dragons nest in these caverns and swaths of hatchlings fill the halls with the joy of growing up so surrounded by love. it was meant only as a brief stop - for Periun let them in so that they might seek out Razzle for repairs on Atmosphere's leg, which had not been designed to cope with the warmth of these oceans. he shrugged them off, though, and it was Cadel who eventually fixed his prosthetic and insulated the joints to make it heat-resistant enough for them to resume their travels.
he's not so great with metal for an Earth dragon, Cadel jeered as he worked on the metal joints. fancies himself an expert with all that skydancer magic, but it's his only connection to such precious metals. makes you wonder where he got those eyes
with Atmosphere's leg repaired and a lair's worth of dragons to meet, for once two fathoms chose to stay in one place a little longer than they needed to. Mercy fell in love with the community of it all, keeping up with Cadel and making friends with Hopeless. she knew her hatchlings would do best if they grew up amongst all these dragons, where they could play with all the other hatchlings and be raised by an entire lair's worth of dragons together
though she and Atmosphere still return to the neighboring desert on a regular basis, with all of their hatchlings thus far being born with the same bright eyes as their mother - though with how much Atmosphere's eyes shine in their presence, you couldn't possibly place him as an Ice dragon
