Backstory
Fireclaw hatched from an orphaned egg taken in by a warrior clan in the Foxfire Bramble. This clan trained all of their hatchlings from a young age to be unmatched warriors, capable of defeating almost any foe. They were particularly known for their guardian students, who were unparalleled in the defense of their charges. Fireclaw was no exception; in fact, he was one of the most skilled fighters his age in the clan. When he grew to adulthood, they sent him out into the world, with the task they assigned to all young guardians: find something great to guard. Fireclaw's peers left to travel the world, but Fireclaw felt pulled to the Driftwood Drag, on the other side of the Tangled Woods. It was there he met Wraith, a young mirror dragon seeking to build a clan of her own. She was attempting to gain access to a subterranean cave system, and Fireclaw himself felt the pull of his search in connection to the cave. Admiring Wraith's strength, ferocity, and persistence, and desiring to find his charge, Fireclaw decided to assist her. He helped her to dig out her lair, and the more he helped, the more he came to love her, and the more he felt a connection to her, the lair, and the surrounding land. By the time the lair was complete, Fireclaw had realized two things: this fledgling clan was his charge, and Wraith, with her sharp wit, unmatched courage, and fierce tenacity, was his soulmate. He asked Wraith that day to be his bondmate, and she accepted. Since then, he has fathered three children, raised a fourth as his own, and seen the clan grow and prosper from a small family of six to a larger family of over fifty.
Personality
Fireclaw is generally calm and easygoing, though in battle he is every bit as fierce as his bondmate. He is gentle with young hatchlings, and is never mad at them for playing on him while he is napping, which they often do. He welcomes all newcomers with a few kind words in his deep voice. He is protective of all his clan members, and while he understands that they must fight their own battles, he will not hesitate to help when they truly need it. He and Wraith, as matriarch and patriarch, lead the clan effectively and are well-loved by their clanmates. Fireclaw provides a more mellow balance to Wraith's ferocity, but neither are to be crossed in matters regarding the safety and well-being of the clan.
