Biography
"It was slowly dawning on Korvax that he had miscalculated. The rush of blood to his head while he hung suspended upside down made it hard to know for sure, but it was possible he made a mistake.
A tracking spell had led him to a depths of the Tangled Wood, into the depths of the Wispwillow Grove. The glowing mushrooms got only a glance as he followed the tracking spell into the trees.
The trap had sprung suddenly, bands of power wrapping around his body like tentacles of pure magic, turning him upside down and disoriented.
Korvax reached within himself for his power, his birthright from his grandmother and tried to teleport away. It didn't work. He tried again, but nothing happened. He drew deeper on his power, and tried to glitch the bands of power away, but it was as if his powers were being negated.
The sky began to darken, and shadows crept from among the trees, tendrils of black and reached up with grasping fingers, reaching for his body.
Korvax tried to flail, but the bands of power held him strong. The shadows engulfed him, soaking into his skin, into his mouth, his eyes, until all he knew was darkness.
Time stopped. All he could feel was the power, the darkness as it burrowed into his pores and seeped into his soul.
After an eternity the shadows retreated. Korvax fell to the ground bonelessly, breathlessly, and laid there, unable to think.
Something nudged him, and he rolled over. Kaia stood over him, or he thought it was Kaia. The veilspun before him had her aura, her eyes, but she was utterly changed.
Korvax clambered to his feet and looked down. He was on all fours, and the trees seemed so much larger than they had when he entered the forest. Of the shadow there was no sign. He stretched his bruised senses out, and to his surprise tentacles of darkness burst from his chest, just like the seeking hands of shadow.
He stood, fury finding its way through the haze in his mind.
Korvax had no idea who had changed him, HOW they had changed him, but they would pay for what they did to him."
