◈ APPEARANCE ◈ The word “windswept” is rarely more apt than with Vertigo. Her hair, though tied back in a ponytail, is quickly coming undone with each passing gust. The grin on her face is irrespective of the tears being wrung from her peridot-colored eyes by the winds that buffet her. She could keep it from stinging so much, of course; there are goggles perched atop her head for that very reason. But she’ll die before she pulls them down. To her, that burn in her eyes is how she knows she’s alive. ◈ HISTORY ◈ Even in her youth, nothing thrilled Vertigo Melark more than the boom of thunder reverberating through her body as she flew through a storm. The air is, and always has been, her life; the cutting cold winds from the south, the warm, cinder-swept updrafts from the Ashfall, and the raging tornadoes that result from the collision of the two. The winds that carry her around the realm have rarely led her to clear skies, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has soared through the cutting sandstorms of Dragonhome, swept over mountaintops amidst the deadly squalls of the Icefield, witnessed the brilliant strike of lightning against the intricate machinery meant to capture it. The Twisting Crescendo is a second home to her, and she sings merry tunes to the howling void of its winds. When she’s not chasing danger across the boundless sky, she’s mapping it. Places she’s been that experience the worst storms are enthusiastically catalogued and shared. Those who possess more self-preservation instincts than herself frequently buy them to avoid such places.
