If any dragon of the clan has a more illustrious history, it is hard to find. Shelly has been around, and has quite a history. She was born as a rogue and tended towards independence very early. However, she has always harbored a soft spot for what seemed to the easiness of clan life. The coatl also was drawn towards the accessibility of the males, and was often run out of many a clan after having short and intense affairs with their males. This led to her often having her babies behind, until she managed to join this clan. To test her loyalty and pliability, Heliopa sent her to be bred with another clan's guardian male. Shelly was complacent, even though the mate was quite overbearing, and returned home with her newborn daughter. The coatl was delighted to finally be able to keep her baby, and began to quietly court Sloan.

Shelly is rebellious, albeit to a certain point. She does not like most orders after spending many of her younger days alone and depending only on herself and the occasional illegitimate mate. Her independence has turned her into a proud, fierce creature, though this demeanor softens when she is around those Shelly believes are worthy of her trust and affections. She clashes heads occasionally with headstrong Jadis, but Heliopa and Sloan, as well as her daughter Emsyria, often are able to break through,
