Sinew is a Wraith in service to the Necromancer Ossua. He is an accidental foil in many ways to her guardian Necroservus, Nefastus: cowardly to Nefastus's brave, underhanded to the guardian's honorable, and hyperactive to his steadfast watchfulness. Where Nefastus serves as a wary bodyguard, Sinew instead attends to whatever miscellaneous task might need doing at the moment. Sometimes he is a messenger, at other times a scout, occasionally a hunter or a scavenger or just a carrier-of-books. His service began with a failed trial: a total and catastrophic inability to control the plague he'd been working with. Luckily for him, the necromancer and her guardian were canvassing the wastes near the Wyrmwound. Well aware that a handful of dragons were attempting the trials, and in need of a servant, Ossua's intention was to watch for any failures and—if they suited her needs—rescue them and bring them into the fold. The energetic and desperate Mirror writhing on the ground was simple enough to cure, and has since proven loyal despite his near-feral eccentricities. These make him perhaps not the best choice for the assistant to an ambassador and researcher; he's prone to stealing food or hissing at strangers. But he knows how to melt into the background, too, and in the end his "henchman" behavior is usually overlooked.  Does far more "slinking about" than might be considered healthy. Has gleefully adopted an Infestation Hound that he frequently plays with. Has a wheedling, often whining, rasping voice and tone. |
