Biography
Gayle Kukrow
Dragonhome Excavation Ambassador
-He/him, Straight
-Though born in the Ashfall Wastes, Gayle has spent more or less his entire life on the plains of Dragonhome. Few else can lay claim to such extensive knowledge on the culture and history of the region, but having grown up surrounded by it and spent many years educating himself, Gayle is able to stand as one of those few. He's dedicated much of his life to archaeology and historical research, and continues to do so even in his old age. He's gone on record as stating that he intends to keep working until the end of his days. It's only natural, then, that when SAR found themselves in the region to launch an investigation into the underground caverns spanning through Cairnstone Rest in co-operation with the established Dragonhome Excavation Comittee - Gayle was the one chosen to act as a relay between both parties. Especially seeing as he was the one most excited by their collaboration. Being as old as he is, he's seen it all. The prospect of something so new and exciting as what SAR is pursuing intrigues him greatly, and he has been very eager to sit in on their work, helping wherever possible.
-Being accomplished and successful doesn't necessarily make up for flaws of personality. In fact, for a lot of people it only creates more of them, and Gayle would be a stellar example of this in action. Though he may come across as a very sociable, curious sort who loves to indulge that curiosity and likewise talk at length about his work with great passion, very few really want to spend time with him that isn't absolutely necessary. Being an old, skilled idiot means you tend to look down on others outside your field or younger than you by any significant amount. He'll brush it off nonchalantly, act like what he's doing isn't a big deal or like he scarcely even notices that he's being rude. Even though he clearly thinks most of the people working under him are incompetent idiots, and treats much of the SAR staff who aren't the lead researchers or upper management as little more than ignorant children. He can barely even hold onto an apprentice for more than a few years before they quit - even though he's well aware it's important that he has someone trained up to take his place as ambassador. Maybe his newest one will be able to stick in at it, but Gayle isn't exactly making it easy...
-Not Partnered, never had much luck in his youth and isn't interested now.
