Summer

This was one of the first breeding projects I scried! I started buying dragons for it a year ago, so it's hard to say how long I've been "working" on the project. New mantra: I must only buy dragons for active projects.

I've spent my whole time in this game in Arcane, so although I did a bit of in-lair breeding, almost all of Summer's ancestors got sent out to Light lairs. That didn't cost as much as I feared due to taking in another (usually tipping) Nest Network member in exchange whenever I sent mine out. The kiddos look much better with yellow eyes than they would have with bright pink ones.

Firefly remains an unpopular gene, however. Despite the matching eyes, the other project dragons have not sold well. But they'll exalt just fine! Nesting pairs out-of-lair was worth the minor cost to not fill the lair with eyesores.

This is another project that greatly benefited from switching my tracking program to Excel. I saved time by calculating the tertiary gene chances properly (better halfway through than never), thus avoiding the worst effects of letting Veined into the project. It's the same rarity as Firefly!

It also helped that I bought scrolls for the primary and secondary genes, since they are so unpopular that dragons who have them are impossible to find in these colors. Bar solved a major color mismatch issue with the inside of Summer's ears. That bugs me more than mismatched eye colors! Clashy ears are harder to hide. And Daub makes his wings look dappled with shadows, so I have no regrets ^^

This project also yielded dragons for Accent: Enlightened Green, Accent: Beast of the Abyss, and Accent: King of the Forest.
