A lone spiral trekked across the rotting land he once called home. The smell of rot and erosion had filled his nostrils as he sneezed. Why the small spiral was here was unknown to many of the residents that were sanctioned to protect their clan’s territories. The spiral never crossed any territory or border line but was seen creepily spiraling and walking as if he had no control over his own action along with no destination in mind…

‘Shimmer was his name,’ one patrol dragon nearby spoke. ‘Nobody knows what it use to go by before that but it keeps murmuring shimmer.’ The patrol dragon shivered. ‘It even creeps me out, no clan wants to take it in. If I were you I’d keep moving along, in fact if you’re looking for a great warrior…’ Their voice faded away as silence and a sense of emptiness fill your mind..


It was as if the Shade had been reaching out to you, offering a fragment of so called ‘godhood’ “Shimmer” would call it. Hesitating, you lingered on choosing whether or not to trust the shifting spiral’s promises of power and protection. Upon weighing your choices, you had decided it’d be best not to anger the so called ‘Guardian of the Corrosive Acid Pools’ whom was still whispering and singing in a runic almost ancient language to you. You agreed, the spiral coming to a halt with their words as it stared deeply into you. Almost as if it’s staring straight at your soul..

Your mind cleared up as the patrol dragon was no where to be seen, in fact in his place was a highly saturated colored spiral. It wormed it’s way to you, and clinging on tightly to whatever it could grasp onto you. Their eyes flickered, looking upwards ;

It seems like you’ve gained a powerful ally..

Shimmer had been gone for a while… where did he go?, you’d always wonder.. You always heard his voice, though you suspected you were going crazy or you were hearing things despite the words I’m here always being said nearby. Though one day, you noticed a swarm of bees were following a floating flower crown. It was made of tiger lilies, Shimmer’s favorite fall flower. Upon attempting to grab it, the crown moved away swiftly and a hissing noise could be heard.

“ t r a i t o r “

A familiar yet deep voice spoke as you backed away. Shimmer? Was this…Shimmer? How- How had this happen to him? Before you were able to question him though the crown and bees zipped away… You had tried to reach out and even called for him but to no avail.. Shimmer had left…
