Mazu is the official messenger of the clan of the Eternals. She flies all official correspondence to allied clans, flies all correspondence to enemy territory and flies all trade items back from the clan's traders. She chose this career, as she enjoys wandering all around the realm, often accompanied by her mate Ungud, who also loves travel and is one of the clan's traders. As a result of her duties, Mazu spends a lot of time in discussion with the clan's co-leaders; Athena and Shiva. They often ask her advice on routes, how safe trails are at the moment, and where in the realm each of the traders is at the moment. Mazu sees this duty as honourable, and bears it with dignity. Mazu is a very affectionate dragon. Whenever she is not winging her way across the realm, you can often find her playing with the clan's hatchlings. She adores teaching them all about the realm, and she is looked upon by the hatchlings as a treasured playmate. Her personality also helps her with her duties. To be a successful messenger, one must be peaceful, tranquil, patient and trustworthy. Mazu is all these things, which helps her immensely with the tedium of waiting to hear back from wherever she has taken a message. She also loves her mate Ungud intensely, and he has been known to describe her as his water goddess. Mazu has everything she wants given to her by her trader mate, who obtains it all from trade. As a result, both of them devote most of their time to their duties, but each dragons tries to make time for each other. They mostly do this by travelling together for a time, only parting if they are headed to different places. Ungud would love to have hatchlings, but Mazu has already had one nest, in which only one hatchling survived. She has therefore requested that they wait for a bit, as she is searching with the clan's healer's help for a way to boost her fertility. Mazu's egg came from the Lightweaver, one of Her blessed babies. Many of the babies who come from The Eleven's own blessed eggs, are born with a purpose, a gift of knowing their place in the world. They all decide their careers very early in life, and often are the very best at these careers. Mazu knew from a very young age that she wished to be a messenger, and she joined her to be mate Ungud in learning certain skills from the warriors. Mazu primarily concentrated on evasive flying manoeuvres and how to use her air trail to knock following fliers out of the sky. She also trained with the warriors on improving her speed, and as a result, as an adult Mazu can only be caught in the air if she wishes to be. She avoids all who try to capture her, and with a merry laugh, flies homeward bound, leaving sore and bruised dragons nursing their bruised pride.
