- because of their ties to the icewarden instead, of course
- badly maimed in the raid, resulting in the facial scar, the missing eye and horn, and mangled fin
- thought dead and left alone
- one of the pirates defected over a pay dispute, and was picking through the ruins for missed goods
- so the goldenbrow was able to corner her and force her to help her with her wounds at knifepoint
- hunted down and killed the pirates responsible, with the help of her new ally
- and by the time she was done, she was a dread captain in her own right
- has a dragonhorn drinking horn. it's her own and she did not make it, but she feels weird throwing it out so.
- she does actually have a letter of marque from the lightweaver (and pardons for her wife)
- so her nickname of the goldenbrow was incorrectly interpreted as her being goldbranded and Virulentian, which bolstered her reputation
- a hundred dragons wanted her dead now, she correctly sought refuge in the sunrot navy for real
