He was small, scrawny... Not very impressive like everyone said Imperials were. His parents loved him, his mother especially since she hadn't been expecting an Imperial hatchling in the nest she had with his father, who was a travelling dragon. And the nest was her first nest to boot. Being unable to see very well has left him attached to his mother, usually clinging to her back. He remembered watching his sister, Aseneth, leave, and begging his mother not to let Bluemoon leave. She reassured him that Bluemoon would not be leaving anytime soon, as June was his charge.

If only that has been true.

He didn't resent his mother for the unintentional lie she had told him. It wasn't her fault she didn't foresee Bluemoon wandering off and never coming back. June waits everyday for his brother to come back. Even though the Guardian was younger than him and he was the one being protected, he couldn't help but feel a little protective himself. He didn't want his brother to get badly hurt, but he knew that might be inevitable, depending on where he winds up. His mother reassured him that Bluemoon will be fine. He hopes he will come back. He has to.
