The cult of the Devouring Claret worships the great Plague Deity, Plaguebringer.
Because of the Plaguemothers' capability to make diseases, the Cult of the Devouring Claret worships her as the Goddess of Death and Evolution.

In this case, the term 'Death' plays two meanings: one being the literal sense, the other would mean 'change'. The idea of something stopping (be it in personality, or a mindset, or anything tangible or intangible) and life going on without it. Some of these dragons turn to praying to the Plaguebringer to stop certain wants or needs, and follow through by abstaining, claiming the Goddess will punish them should one fail to abstain by causing the dragon to turn ill.
