Biography
When push comes to shove
And you throw me in the sea
I promise you, child,
I'll take you in with me.
The water is serene, a place of calm in the midst of a storm. Things that occur on the land carry no weight on the sea- captives seek refuge on the open waves, where time slips away and the gentle crash of water against the sides of the ship or the salt-tinged gust of air envelops them in it's timelessness. But the quiet is a trap, the rhythmic movements of the ocean merely the precursor to something worse. There is no greater danger than the sea, for it has an arsenal of weapons at it's disposal, from the waves large enough to drown the largest of dragons to the sirens that use their voice to entrance their prey. Unlike the land, the sea is constantly at work. It is constantly moving, constantly building it's strength. Constantly brewing a storm that can wipe out not only those in it's path, within the waves, but those outside of it as well. The land may hold no power over the sea, but the sea cannot say the same for the land.
___
Many dragons have commented on her voice over the years. It's gentle and melodic; if she says something, anything at all, whatever room she's in falls eerily silent to listen. She doesn't mind the attention, nor does she mind the fact that she can command the room with a single word, yet it's rare for her to speak above a whisper when she's with anyone other than her clanmates. The reason for it is quite simple- they always ask her to sing, once they realize how entrancing her regular speaking voice is.
It's not that she can't sing. The reason for her aversion to it is simply because they'd realize what she really was if she ever did.
_______
She's a siren; many a crew have been lost due to her efforts, and many ships have been crushed to shambles under the force of the seas and the inattention of it's company. Once, she took pride in that knowledge. She still does, to an extent- some of the crew she helped to drown were the worst kind of dragons. Thieves, murderers, spies. Yet some of them were innocents, taken from a life of honest living to become another long-lost relic that the ocean took for itself. For them, she felt guilt.

She is a siren, but she wasn't hatched as one. Her mother was one, and her sister was as well, but something about her was different. The trait was lost on her, instead providing her with a sweet speaking voice that was, in it's own way, a siren song. The males chased her unceasingly, simply because her voice was the lightest, gentlest, most melodic thing they had ever heard. But it wasn't enough for her.
She inherited the greed of a siren instead of the voice of one. She wanted the ability to weave spells into a song, so badly she could taste it. She traveled the globe searching for someone that could grant her her wish, finally finding it in the form of a witch that offered her the voice of her dreams, for a price. The price, as it turned out, was her sister.
She'd make that same decision all over again if she had to, but it was the act that caused her the most regret in her life. It doesn't matter that her sister taunted and teased her about not being a real siren when they were young, or flaunted what she was able to do with it for the sole purpose of making her jealous. They were blood, and that meant something to her. But being a siren was worth every poor decision she had ever made, even when it has the potential to get her killed if anyone found out.
What they do not know is that the sea has a life of it's own. Wrong it, and it will remember, for the sea has no beginning or end-it simply is,
Sailors traveling Sornieth's seas know to keep their guard up as they sail. The waters are always dark, weaving a tale of
