They say
life finds a way,
and I agree.
In great famine,
when the animals
litter the ground,
their hearts ceased,
bodies consumed
by their own hunger,
the creatures in the soil
are having a feast.
No piece goes to waste
as the spores spread
and the maggots squirm.
Mushrooms burst from
the body, the trees, the soil...
Consuming, devouring,
spreading like a disease.
Your stomach
may turn at the rot,
but you can't deny
when you see such life,
the little maxim
you like to spread.
Life finds a way,
and so does death.
But are life
and death so different?
When the spores
spread over
your grave,
and the fungi
consumes your flesh,
you will see then
that they are as much alive
as you are dead.
Life and death,
together in eternal harmony.
It's rather beautiful,
isn't it?
