Sylph padded uncertainly along the Flowering pools of the Everbloom Gardens, her elegant tail gently swishing over Leafy fronds and blooms as she went. Tiny silver bells, hanging on short delicate silver chains at varying points along her Sylvan tail ornament, tinked softly with each movement.

Her furred head looked about, the little dangling star earring tickling the fluff at the back of her cheekbone. The Tundra stopped, dipping her head to meet one raised forpaw as she scritched at the spot whilst her emerald green eyes continued scanning the surroundings. Itch satisfied, she took in her surroundings once more. Colorful birds peeked shyly through surrounding bushes, observing the newcomer with cautious curiousity.

Sylph's gaze softened significantly at the sight of them. She had a fond love for birds since she was but a hatchling. Their beautiful plumage, the distinct personalities each individual possessed, and their vast variety of songs, were among the things she loved most about them. She sat for a moment, unmoving, the softly glowing runic markings along her fur faint in the bright warm sun.
Blue Throated Budgie
The blue budgie she glimpsed took off with a flutter. Then, an almost undetectable weight upon her left headfin. Soft feathers tickled her ear and it was all the Tundra could do to keep from flicking her ear. Warmth bubbled in her chest as she heard the small chirps, and trills as the small bird very gently nibbled and pecked at her shiny dangling earring, entertained.
Gloomwillow Guide
With a startled chirp the budgie took off once again and dissapeared back into the foliage.

Sylph sighed sadly, turning her head to the furry, translucent-winged creature hovering beside her, trails of wispy magical dust drifting along the path it had flown.

"Whisper, you scared the bird away..." She chided, her voice soft and melodic.

The creature addressed as Whisper tilted their head, looking at her with almond-shaped, brightly glowing eyes. "Oh. Did I?" they asked innocently enough, turning their head in the direction the bird had flown.

The little Gloomwillow entity sounded neither male, nor female, and although Sylph and the little fellow had been companions for quite some time, she never could get a direct answer from her little friend, who eluded her curious questions with a humorous giggle. Eventually Sylph simply accepted the fact she may never know, and instead welcomed the mischievous creature as they were; perfectly, mysteriously neutral.

The Tundra sighed once more and shook her head, wistfully gazing over to where the cute little bird had flown before turning to trod deeper into the Grove.

"Nevermind. Come on, the clan's leader was supposed to meet us here..." she began, pondering as she walked, watching Whisper go from flying mirthful circles around her before darting off to look at some new object of their interest, then back again. "The dragon we passed a while back did say she may be hard to spot... I wonder why?"

The two traveled for a while longer, finally comming to a stop at a much larger glistening pool surrounded by thick underbrush, flowers, and mossy outcroppings. Water lollies, in more colors than Sylph had ever seen, floated gently in the pool, which looked to her more like a large pond, but the waters were so crystal clear, she could see all manner of plant and aquatic life, right to its silty bottom.

Whisper bumped her side, pointing one little forpaw towards a cluster of moss covered trees. "Psssst... Sylph... look there. See?"

Sylph looked. And blinked twice. There was a beautiful mineral deposited resting between two trees, with moss in rich shades of green, dotted with tiny yellow and white flowers, growing around it. Brown feathers and beads, strung together with cords were draped along the surface. "I wonder who left this here? And this opal deposit is beautiful Whisper, look at it sparkle in the sun..."

Then, a section of moss covered opal, opened a brilliant blue eye.

Whisper made a startled squeak of surprise, outwardly mirroring Sylphs silent, open mouthed amazement, darting between the fold of her wing and her warm fluff.

This was no opal deposite deep in the Everbloom Gardens. It was the most lovely Gaurdian the Tundra had ever laid eyes upon.

A deep resonating voice filled with love and perhaps a little humor spoke:

"Welcome, little Sylph, and friend Whisper..." she began, shifting beneath the twin tree's canopies and rising. "I am Den-Matron Cestalia, leader of this clan. I welcome you, and it gladdens my heart to see you chose to stay here, with us, and find purpose once more..."

The large Gaurdian's body, what could be seen beneath what must have been years of moss and mineral growth, were earthy shades of brown, with an almost marbled patterning. The brown feathers and beads, strung and Draped over what Sylph had mistaken for a mossy mineral deposit, were in fact draped over very large wings, a much darker shade of brown than the Gaurdian's body.

"Thank you for taking me in, Den-Matron... I just... I did not feel the pull of Gladekeeper's voice as strongly as my siblings." the Tundra responded sadly, her throat catching. She could feel Whisper press closer against her body, still hidden and likely not comming out any time soon, beneath her folded wings. Their presence was comforting.

Again the Matron spoke, "Of course Sylph, we welcome you gladly, for as long as you wish to stay. a moment of pause. I understand the conflict you feel. To serve so closely at the Gladekeeper's side is indeed the highest honor-" she began gently, however it can pain those left behind, for to see them again, the same path must be taken."

Sylph swallowed hard, nodding silently, still unable to take her eyes off the beautiful Gaurdian, unable at times to tell where dragon ended and Nature began, so perfectly harmonious was the merge between opaline and plant growth with the Matron's hide. She watched the large Gaurdian shift her gaze to the right, eyeing a patch of underbrush with humor.

"But come now, let us find you a comfortable dwelling to your liking. You may take as long as you need to settle in." a hint of humor in her voice. "And it seems we have the perfect volunteer to show you around..."

Sylph looked closer at the bushes she was looking at, blinking in surprise as a strikingly stunning back and blue Pearlcatcher stepped sheepishly from the underbrush, his cover blown. Sylph's heart skipped, sped up, all but stopped, and skipped some more.

Her gaze tore from Cestalia, it now focused solely on the male before her. She had never seen a dragon with such a rich contrast of deep blue and black, and like her, bright blue runic markings lined his body, and she knew had it been night time they'd have glowed as brilliantly as her own.

The male's eyes were locked on hers, and he shifted self conciously as she met his gaze."Of c-course," his deep rumble faltered for but a moment. "It would be my pleasure. I am Felrith, kind lady, might I know your name?"

Her heart skipped again. Struggling to regain her composure, the Tundra returned his bow, flicking her wings slightly and nearly dislodging Whisper from their hiding place before neatly folding them once more against her furred back. "Sylph. My name is Sylph. It is nice to meet you Felrith." She thought she managed to keep the waver from her voice quite nicely.

The Den-Matron dipped her head, to them both, a sparkle in her brilliant blue eyes. "I shall leave you to it then. If you'll Pardon me Sylph, I leave you in very capable claws." the large gaurdian turned, and within moments had all but dissapeared into the foliage.

Sylph watched as the male took a few steps forward facing a slightly north-eastern direction before he spoke again. "Shall I give you a tour of the unoccupied dens first?"

And with a silent nod, Sylph followed him, feeling very at home...
