Zero has always been one with nature. His birth clan, as small and quaint as it was, imparted a single life-long lesson in him: "to bloom is to thrive." The quote wasn't just in reference to plants, though that was a large part of it. In reality, his elders were talking about one's livelihood and well-being. In other words, if someone wasn't living their best life then they weren't living at all. It was this, along with teachings of foraging and gardening, that propelling him forward in life.

Upon reaching adulthood, Zero joined Roshi's clan with the intent to not only share his birth clan's wisdom with other dragons but to find himself in the process. Surely he would find his calling, he thought, if he were given the opportunity to help a new clan grow. And so he did. Not only was successful in making a new life for himself, but he also managed to find a loving mate who admired his "live life to the fullest" lifestyle.
