The Fragmentary Emergence as "requital"
What is Owed
Sparrow Skull The loss of her parents is what drove Aelia to make her bargain with the Unseen Figure in the expanse now known as the Emperor's Wake. This longing for vengeance, now permanently unfulfilled, follows her like a cloud enveloping all those around her in it's miasma. Nerva's stalwart companionship has been the one grounding force in Aelia's second life, yet the chasm of Aelia's heart threatens to swallow Nerva whole- and neither seem able to confront it.
And as Aelia turns from the bargain she struck with the Unseen Figure, who also can no longer uphold it's end of the bargain, she begins to lose herself to the power that was traded for.
