A soft hiss causes the snakes to draw back, turning to peer at a pair of larger serpents nestled nearby. The hiss continues, seemingly soothed by the brighter figure by their side. It was to these soft whispers of envy that the twin shells finally split, a pair of bright eyes peering out into their world. Their silence is met by their mother's eager whispers, soft in their minds like the gentle light of a candle. Children of light, touched by the harsh jealousy of their powerless father, eventually find their way out of the ruins, taking whatever they can grab on the way out with them as they go. Perhaps they'll have the optimism of their mother, shining as a beacon of discovery and inspiration to all they meet.
