Pomefiore is the oldest of the dorms and houses students who excel at potionology and curses, as well as cultivating a unique sense of style.
- The name Pomefiore comes from pomme, the French word for "apple", and fiore, the Italian word for "flower."
- The dorm crest features the poisoned apple being pierced by a dagger, which resembles the dagger and the heart depicted on the box the Evil Queen gave to the Huntsman. The top of the crest resembles the Queen's crown and high collar.
- Pomefiore being described as the oldest and most historic dorm is most likely an homage to how Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) was Disney's very first animated feature film.
- Many Pomefiore students appear to come from well-off families.
- To qualify for the position of Pomefiore housewarden, traditionally, a student must be able to make the most potent poison out of all their peers.
- The Pomefiore dorm has its own lab.
