Biography
Quintessence
She/Her
Reaper
Quintessence once lived as a wandering adventurer of sorts, improving her combat skill with various tasks and skirmishes along the way. After she protected a group of dragons from being robbed or worse, they invited her into their clan. Sensing that this was her new calling, she agreed and quickly grew close to her new clan, her family. She helped raise the next generation of warriors, well-trained to protect and defend their clan from harm. She was an honorable and kind warrior, always making the time to help others and to be a comforting presence.
That all changed in the blink of an eye. The clan was attacked, and she gave her life to protect it. She succeeded, but her injuries were simply too much to recover from. She fell into darkness shortly after, surrounded by her saddened family. The presence of her clan safe and sound allowed her to let go.
...Until she was given a second chance. A chance to live on and fulfill her true purpose, whatever that was. She took it.
She was returned to the plane of the living thanks to her familiar, her life-threatening injuries reduced to harsh scars running across her body. However, that wasn't the only part about her that was different. Now being touched by the afterlife, she could melt into shadows and fight with an otherworldly rigor she hadn't had before. But she would never be the same as she once was, her once bright colors reduced to dull greys. She accepted her second chance, but at what cost?
She missed her clan dearly, but she could never go back now that she was reduced to such a ghastly form. Ashamed, she hid away in the shadows, a silent observer. After hanging around for a while, she realized that her clan would be okay. They mourned and missed her as much as she missed them, but all things must come to an end. With a heavy heart, she left.
After leaving her family behind, she vowed to never replace them with another clan. Her only purpose now was making use of her second chance. There were bad dragons with bad intentions in the world, and she had the power to protect the innocent from the bloodshed she had experienced.
Quintessence now wanders the lands, silently watching and observing life continuing on around her. She steps in to protect those that need to be protected and punish those who need to be punished. She does it all in memory of her family. Her clan. In her mind, they are still fighting right alongside her, never apart.
