THIEF
The Leader
"An endless fury that only battles can calm."
It was never a goal of Thief to become a leader of a clan. Just some time ago it was probably his worst nightmare to constantly have people around him that rely on him. He was a loner. A treasure hunter always searching for a challenge and the promise of danger only excited him, especially if a pile of gold and jewels was involved along the path. The storytellers that shared their tales of dangerous and challenging quests with him could not tell a lot of stories about Thief himself. As quiet as possible, but persistent enough to get them to tell the stories to the very last detail and with even the last grain of information. Their warnings of danger, possible death passed by without impact. The eyes of the Thief clearly told his will to hunt down all treasures he could find no matter the obstacles in his way. He left as unnoticed as he appeared. Just to come back after days or months to ask for the next story. It was solely by chance that he met the first member of his soon to be clan. At that moment it was only a bond forged by their shared wish for adventure and danger that made them travel together. The chance to fight even stronger enemies, find even better protected treasures made Thief accept the company of another dragon. But fate decided that it did not take long for another dragon to appear that wanted to be part of the group. This time however he has no benefit to the group but rather slowed them down. It enraged Thief and he did his best to get rid of the annoying dragon but that dragon simply didn’t give up. It took months, a long time where the group had to travel along a very bad tempered Thief, until the third of the group was trained enough to gain Thiefs reluctant acceptance. From that moment on everything just fly by. Love came and strong bonds were formed in the group. It didn’t take long until the group attracted more and more members. At some point Thief finally gave up behaving like a loner forced into a group and accepted that they were growing in numbers. As long as they shared his desire for adventure and treasure and they were willing to live peacefully along all other members of the group he was willing to at least bear their company. No one is willing to tell who came up to call them a clan with the creative name of “The Clan” and started calling Thief the leader but the moment Thief heard about it it was already too late to stop it. He still introduces himself as “Thief” or “treasure hunter” but all the others introduce him as “leader” when asked (or “boss” if they are really sure Thief can’t hear it). A time of adventure and wealth started. The Clan made a name through the lands as a clan of fearless and adventurous treasure hunters. Even if it forever stays a question how Thief managed to properly raise children during his travels it somehow was possible. He raised them with love and proud and teached them all he knew. Many decided that the nomadic life wasn’t the way of life they desired and so they left the clan to search for a family on their own. Thief saw them go with proud as he knew they were strong enough to defend themselves on their own path. Raodra was the name of the daughter that decided to travel along the Clan and embrace their lifestyle to the fullest. Thief trained her to mastery and she was a strong addition to the Clan. Then came the night that changed so much. Raodra, attacked by an unknown was heavily injured. Although she stayed alive she lost her ability to fight and fly. The night Thief found Raodra injured and near death he swore to take revenge no matter what cost. Whoever dared to injure his beloved daughter would pay the price for it. The clan shared Thiefs hate against the unknown attacker and altogether the swore an oath to hunt down the being that dared to injure one of their own. |
