The Lord of Duty sounds like an intimidating title; however, the Lady Eden who bears it is renowned for being one of the most benevolent and friendly royals in the clan. This skydancer is known for her fondness of time spent with the newest generations of her clan as well as the caretaking of the elderly. She is patient, affectionate, and sociable, oftentimes introducing herself in a worldly manner that denotes nothing of her royalty and status of great import. Lady Eden considers 'Duty' to be the making of a kind and charitable clan who doesn't turn their back on the needy, and does not believe to pursuit of her Concept should impede one from bringing happiness to one's self and others. She often demonstrates this through her character, leading her to be one of the most beloved Lords of Gypsum Tower. That being said, her patience is not bottomless, and Eden can become quite stern when need be. Life is full of lessons to be learned, and Eden understands that sometimes a firm hand is needed to guide the more thoroughly lost. Her wrath, however, could hardly be seen as anything more than motherly. She is always quick to forgive. Eden's maternal nature does not come from personality alone. She is the adoptive mother of two; Ice Representative Eirlys and Prince Safadel. While Eirlys was more traditionally adopted when he arrived to the clan as a small boy without family, Safadel's point of origin is a bit more mysterious, having appeared after Eden's ascension to her position as a part of some sort of 'contract' made. If possible, nobody in the clan has any doubt that she would adopt ever more children, but it seems she at least understands the meaning of restraint. She satiates her love for motherhood by frequenting the nursery and helping tend to the nests and hatchlings of other dragons. During political meetings, Eden often proposes laws and viewpoints that are fair and just, and seems to appreciate Amygdala's ability to point out potential loopholes and play devil's advocate. She will not hesitate to rewrite entire regulations the moment they seem to become morally gray or compromise the livelihoods of the clan. Though her views align with Iskam's desire to protect his people, Eden takes on a far more defensive and occasionally conservative approach and avoids conquest as much as possible. Though they often agree on points, they usually struggle to come to a consensus due to a disagreement on what ends justify their means and are often forced to compromise on both sides. Her and Saigyouji get along splendidly, though she is not a pacifist and will consider conflict if it's strictly necessary. |
