Abyssal is a cold and distant dragon - trying to get her to share her knowledge is like pulling a tooth with rusted instruments, especially if you're new and/or young. She has no problem sharing her wisdom with Sylfer and Warlock or even Madrigal. Feroxia, the clan's librarian, is another exception. Most others tend to keep their distance whenever they see her, though. Her glacial stare feels like it could cut diamond. Abyssal once had a mate, but lost it to the magical anomaly that they named the Rift. Abyssal herself almost got stuck in this warped alternative dimension, but managed to escape just in time. However, she did not escape unscathed. Whatever magics were at work that day, they sunk into her hide and her flesh. Sometimes Abyssal has flashes and feelings and can almost feel that other reality hovering over her, ready to devour her. Close enough to loom over her shoulder, but not enough to swallow her whole. It gets worse the closer she is to Madrigal. Since then, Abyssal has kept her distance from the rest of the clan, fearing that she'd take someone to the other side by accident. The only dragons that know of her condition are Madrigal, Sylfer and Warlock. She's recently discovered an aptitude for magic and it terrifies her. She had not a drop of magical skill before her 'trip' to that otherwordly dimension. She refuses to even try to use it, especially now that the Owlish have fallen and Madrigal is... something else. |
