Childhood clan was doing magical experiments on hatchlings to create a breed of dragons that didn't need food to survive. It worked, but the way the children were treated caused all of the surviving ones to leave once they were old enough. Trinket, having always been interested in the folklore of the Viridian Labyrinth, migrated to the Druidkeep and made it her home.
Her body needs sea water to function, so she has to periodically return to the sea to fill her stores back up. Because of all the traveling this demands, Trinket has amassed a lot of...well, trinkets! Jewelry, fabrics, carvings, anything and everything that she finds interesting. Once returning to the keep, she'll open her trading stall to barter most of it away for things she actually needs.
Tritanus was originally working with the mages that were studying Trinket and her fellow hatchlings, but after seeing the deplorable conditions they were all kept in decided to help the kids as best as he could. Trinket was one of the last hatchlings to leave, and now that his mission was done, Tritanus left with her. He's become something of a father figure to Trinket over the years.
