xxDeep within a lonely wood where birds call to one another and trees whisper their secrets, a small, unseeming hole leads down into a cave full of life. A clan of dragons formed within this cave; each heading belowground and finding a warm home and many clanmates. These dragons formed bonds as strong as the tree roots just beyond the roof of their beloved caves, and their matriarch, Bird, is like the sunlight that gives life to them.
xxThroughout time and as the clan settled, new nooks and crannies were carved out and formed to expand the cave and to accommodate for their numbers. Bird eagerly accepted each new dragon, and although many are not related by blood, they all became a family.
xxWhile some may not consider a dark, hidden cave as a cozy home, Bird and her clan were able to make this cave their own. It all started with a single rose bush and a decision to live, but as Bird befriended other dragons, they carved away and decorated it with little pieces of themselves.
xxStep by step, they made their cave a warm, cheery place full of color, laughter, and happiness. It was finally a home, a place that its inhabitants take refuge in. As more dragons came, they contributed to their clan home by adding their own alcoves and taking care of it and each other.
xxWhat was once dark and dreary become a starburst of life and love.
xxThe members of this clan, who are under Bird’s overseeing care, warmly welcome each new dragon as one of their own. And each newcomer, as they slowly creep inside, discover a family who accept their new clanmates with open arms. The adults take care of the little ones, and the little ones in turn look after one another and the smallest of hatchlings.
xxThey are not just clanmates, but parents and siblings; each finding more than just friends, but an entire family. xxAnd over them all is their matriarch Bird, who looks after them all like a hen would her chicks.
xxInside this unassuming cave, above which birds sing and tree boughs dance, a little family dwells happy and secure.
