Biography
“Please, sir. I am but a humble mushroom hunter.”
Belenus raised an eyebrow to the Imperial. He was rather average in stature for his breed, but it was difficult for the ancient Spiral to parse such a fact when all Imperials dwarfed him.
A bog shifted beneath the massive wyrm’s feet, causing Belenus to fly in steady looping patterns around him to investigate. The Imperial seemed to have complete control over the land. The waters ebbed and flowed with his every movement, and brambles shifted where he walked as if to make way for his presence.
“I am too many summers old, my friend. You’ll have to be more convincing than that to fool a denizen of the wood MY age.”
With a huff, the Imperial placed his basket down.
“Then examine. Tell me what you find.”
Belenus crawled around the basket of mushrooms, taking in their scent - however plain they looked, it was clear something was amiss about them. Slowly, steadily, Belenus found himself falling to a dreamlike haze at the mere smell of these mushrooms’ spores.
To the shock of the Imperial, however, he held steady.
“Impossible,” the larger dragon growled, “So this is what sort of being would dare bring Ammalas from his home.”
Shaking his head, Belenus filled the air with his usual mirthful laughter.
“Yes. And I want to see your wares.”
“Forget wares. You are a true child of the Shadowbinder - Her essence made flesh. Come. I have a home, and we have much to discuss.”
Upon flying to Ammalas’s head, Belenus coiled himself around a solid, if still growing in, antler.
“Knew I’d get you eventually. Lead on, big guy.”
