-The SAR Facility is a feat of modern engineering. Though much of the innerworkings remains secret to the outside world due to the nature of our work, we have had some of Sornieth's best engineers amongst our staff in the pursuit of our goals. In the pursuit of understanding, containment, and prevention. State of the art equipment and security systems are all integral parts to keeping the facility running smoothly. The power requirements for all of these advanced cogs in the grand machine of SAR are far greater than conventional sources can support. That is why The Generator was created. A great machine of steel and iron within which is contained a great concentration of elemental energy known as the Heart. It is self-sustaining, constantly generating Arcane magic that is fed through every part of the facility. The means of achieving this end are a closely guarded secret. The creator is an unknown face in the history of our facility. Such energy must not enter other claws. It is contained as much as it contains.
-The Generator is a machine. It does not think, feel, only continues on the path it was created for. It sits in its steel prison beneath SAR unmoving, the only sound the hum of the Arcane energy that is the Heart. Some, however, do not feel the same way around it as they might any other piece of technology in SAR. They speak of hearing something more, beneath the steady hum of magic, a sound unlike anything else they've heard before and a frequency their devices do not pick up. Garbled voices and cries. They say that they feel watched. That the hair or spines on the back of their neck can't help but raise in its presence, there's this distinct uneasiness like the feeling of being stalked by a predator. They report feelings of sickness after being in its presence too long. The Heart shifts in a color that does not exist. But staff rumours are just that - it is only a battery. Arcane magic has a long history of causing ill effects to those of other elements, the concentration is clearly too much for some to handle.
