Legend tells of a mythical dragon who, long ago, soared the heavens for millennia. With gleaming scales of sunlight and moonlit ivory wings, it is said that this dragon could, with a single gentle touch of a talon, turn anything into gold. This is a tale told to the many young hatchlings of a quaint clan situated in the southern point of the Mirrorlight Promenade:

Ivory moonlight reflected off of the many ornate glass mirrors scouring the land. A haphazard, glistening desert of abandoned knickknacks and gewgaw. The wind, quiet as always, blew little grains of sand like dust clouds tumbling over themselves until they settled once more in clumps and dunes. When the dust settled, all was still in the land. In the morning, when the first sunlight came over the horizon, the very first dragons would settle the land.

These spawn, like all spawn of the Lightweaver, enjoyed brilliancy. They hoarded useless possessions and squabbled amongst themselves, fighting for glittering gold and material objects. Thus, when they discovered the dragon who could turn anything to gold, they quickly beset upon her with request after request, turning all manner of things to gold: first, they begged for golden sand to roll in. Then, they begged for golden fleece to wrap themselves in. They soon begged to turn their scales that same brilliant gold. When the golden dragon refused to bequeath any more wishes of gold upon the clan, they fought bloodily and sought to destroy the golden dragon.

Realizing her mistake, the golden dragon mourned her naivety. "Now, I see the truth. I did not weave, but divided." Her creations had brought nothing but strife to the clan of the Mirrorlight Promenade, and thusly, as her final gift, the golden dragon turned herself to gold. Thus, no one should ever benefit from her golden touch ever again.

While a morose and bittersweet tale, the story is meant to teach younglings the value of modesty, humility, and compassion. The golden dragon's golden statue, now erected over a hanging rocky outcrop comprised of brilliant gold gemstones embedded in the stone, is adorned with several objects of worship to appease her spirit.

The statue is currently always monitored by at least two dragons. Daily maintenance is performed by a familiar who has since been drawn to the statue's strange energy.
