Garden Caretaker "Be like the grasses: while you might get stepped on, cut off, spat on, and knocked over, the grasses still grow back straight and tall and soldier on despite their hardship." Amarenthi's job is one of the most difficult for the Clan - she has to grow a blooming garden in the midst of the coldest most inhospitable region of Sorienth. After leaving Lightweaver's domain which was incredibly easy to grow in the warm sunny fields of fertile land, she had to quickly find a new solution to the bitter ice and snow. With some help from the ingenuity of their mechanic Jiravreal, she was able to carve herself a massive cave deep on the earth, import several tons of dirt and equipment.... what came out of the job was a huge underground greenhouse ripe with all manner of food. She can grow as well as she once did with the help of ultraviolet light, fresh air pumped down and warmed before hitting the plants, filters for air quality, and irrigation. She always feels a swelling of pride to go down into the granite forest she has nurtured and be able to gather as much food as she once was able to. She works closely with her fellow gardener Ponos, keeping each other company, singing songs, and nurturing every manner of plant they find a seed for. They now hold a collection of flora from around the world, growing in harmony. Their need to have everything pollinated lead them to dig out another extension to the cave in which her mate Lafye and Razorclaw manage - an insect rich area full of flowers and huge colonies of fair weather insects that do their job of pollinating - and feeding the dragons above. She loves to spend her time with her three companions, especially during times she is alone with Layfe below. The two built their relationship on quiet companionship, both sitting on a soft bedding of pine needles, watching the honeybees buzz around, tails intertwined while she occasionally hums. No one would know from watching her that she is almost completely blind. Her last mate Callur was an ambitious electrical engineer, taking risks he shouldn't have. One of those risks that didn't pay off was having her join him the first time he tested out a laser weapon. The resulting explosion of light from the instrumentation fail seared her eyes. It didn't take long after for the two to split apart - for she still blames him for this tragedy and he quickly withdrew from the Clan to avoid prosecution. She believes if the rumors for why they were forced to leave are true, Callur was the most likely cause of it. These days, while she can only somewhat see light and dark, she relies on her senses and her knowledge to take her through life.
