Biography
The Witchdoctor
Frequently mutters to herself. Mostly avoided by others. Worships the elements. Pagan.
In conflict with Niklaus and Januarius.
Even deities are fallible. Just look at the Arcanist, who brought the Fade to our world; or at the Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper, eternally locked in a petty and unwinnable battle. Xena saw no strength in worshiping such idols. There was something else, something much stronger in this world; the elements that they represented. A single leaf had more emotion and courage than the Gladekeeper had in her entire body. One strike of lightning, sudden and brilliant, had more order and productivity than the Stormcatcher could ever dream of. Much to the chagrin of the more faithful dragons in her clan, Xena decided that it would be far more useful to worship these elements than the gods.
She keeps mostly to herself. It’s not entirely her own choice; the other dragons in the clan tend to avoid her and, when they don’t, they spurn her outright. It doesn’t much bother her, though. Even they can see that. Xena walks with the same glory of all gems in Cairnstone Rest and all the majesty of the Shifting Expanse’s greatest torrential storm. She doesn’t only worship the elements--she manipulates them into something she can use. Though lightning flight dragons are not quick to point to magic, she is what many call a witch. Whether or not the others believe in her religious opinions, they can tell that she has something different about her. Something old, something magical, and something powerful.
