The bold Imperial was raised on the fringes of the Wandering Contagion, but left her hatching place when she was barely grown to seek her fortune. Her first try saw Persephone making the trek to the Sunbeam Ruins, the origin place of her kind. While she was welcomed by most of the clans she visited she had the misfortune of accidentally stumbling upon a region densely populated by proud Pearlcatchers.

In such a place Imperials like Persephone were not welcome. At first, they seemed polite enough, until it became apparent that Persephone was intending to stay there for a while. Their compliments became backhanded and condescending, and then they began to openly snub and mock her in public, and finally she returned to her makeshift den one night to find it vandalized. She left in a rage, and she never forgot their cowardice and conceit.

From there her travels took her to Dragonhome. She attached herself to a welcoming fledgling clan, and threw herself into her work within it. This time, her attempt at settling went much more smoothly. There was one small problem- Ankou, the resident Pearlcatcher.

They got along horribly. Having experienced Pearlcatcher arrogance firsthand, Persephone expected no better from him. His pride had fractured with his pearl, but what he knew of Imperials and their disdain toward his kind caused him to be wary of her. She took this reclusiveness for conceit and delighted in needling and irritating him until his wariness became outright contempt.

But both were too loyal and stubborn to leave, and sometimes, necessity mandated cooperation. Once, the two were sent out to scavenge together, and returned much later than expected looking thoroughly battered, and also acting much less belligerent than usual. They stopped aggravating each other, and even seemed… friendly. A few years later, and the two were nigh inseparable. No one knows why; speculation is popular amongst Demesne dragons. Some think that their enmity sparked a fight that forced them to settle their differences and realize how foolish they were, while romantics prefer the notion that they were assailed by monsters and saved each others' lives in battle.

Persephone still loves needling people, but is more friendly about it than she used to be, and her wit has lost its acerbic edge. She is bold, somewhat blunt, clings strongly to her beliefs, and refuses to let herself be cowed by anyone, to the point of stubbornness. It's rare to hear her speak seriously unless she is directly challenged; she approaches most situations with teasing and jokes. Presently she commands the Night Watch which she founded, guarding the land of the Diabase Demesne against all threats, and she is very devoted to her family.
