Chrysalis

Pronouns: They/Fae/Zey

Chrysalis hatched alone in the Sunbeam ruins. Their earliest memory is of crawling out of the egg into the soft grass, surrounded by ominous and arcane pillars. Zey survived well enough on zeir own, eating whatever bugs and insects they could find. It was a simple, peaceful life... but lonely, too.

Chrysalis was too timid and anxious to leave zeir home at first, venturing out only a little at a time as a juvenile. They met a few adventurer dragons, but didn't have the courage to leave for the longest time. It wasn't until Rune traveled through, telling stories of their adventures, that Chrysalis finally had the inspiration to leave. Not right away, of course. Rune invited Chrysalis to leave with them, but Chrysalis stayed. It wasn't until after Rune was gone that Chrysalis realized if they didn't leave, they would be stuck in this little ruin forever, and miss out on so much of the world.

So they did. It was terrifying, but Chrysalis left their little ruin and didn't look back. They found that through thier limited contact with dragons, zey didn't know much about how to interact with dragonkind and struggled to get by through many awkward and confusing encounters. Fortunately, Chrysalis found Rune once again at an adventuring outpost at the northern tip of Sunbeam ruins. They tentatively asked if their offer still remained, and Rune simply smiled and welcomed Chrysalis along.

They traveled up into the Viridian Labyrinth, across the Dragonhome, the Tangled wood, briefly through the Scarred Wasteland and the Starfall isles, before settling in the Windswept Plataeu, where they hatched their plan to start a little clan of their own - just the two of them. Of course, they happened to find many other friends and misfit dragons along the way and their little clan grew into a little family.

Chrysalis took on the role of Lorekeeper, tracking the clan's achievements, documents and stories in their own personal library set into the cliffs. They often help out with the Hatchery as well, as does everyone in the clan.
