Rune is a godless dragon, having lost faith in the great wyrms due to their constant warring and violence. Rune was raised in a very warrior-like clan, their sole purpose was to be honed as a perfect warrior for Windsinger, to protect the land from the shade and Windinger's rivals. Rune never believed in the fighting and soon fled their home to become a rogue wanderer. They changed their name to avoid association with their old clan and to prevent being recognized by them.

Rune learned a little wild magic on their travels and fought many hostile beasts. Despite not believing in the Great Wyrms' quarrels, Rune had been raised to fight and struggled to find a life outside it. They formed a small clan on the outskirts of the Windswept Plateau after befriending Chrysalis. It was meant to be a temporary stay with the curious Fae, while they recovered from a particularly nasty run-in, but Rune soon found kinship with them. Soon, they had collected a few other motley misfit dragons and the clan was official. Rune continues to train their clanmates in the arts of magic and fighting, determined to protect their new home and family from the lingering threat of the shade, which Rune has encountered firsthand on their travels.

Rune now trains their new family in the arts of magic and self defense, and patrols the clan territory regularly, fending off beasts and monsters and keeping a watchful eye out for any true threats while staying away from the endless battling of the dragon gods. Although they do not believe in the Exalteds and the wars, Rune still respects the choice of those who leave to serve Windsinger and the others.
