Overlooking the valley, Onixus could see the cherry trees in full bloom and the small town at the center of them. He had been told by travelers that there was a big festival going on in that town today. I've been travelling a bit farther from home than usual, but a quick stop here couldn't hurt anything. From above the village, he could already hear the music playing and see the crowd of dragons in the town square. They danced in such fascinating ways. I almost want to get a closer look. Onixus landed off to the side of the square. The walkways were strewn with stray flower petals drifting from the trees. Some of the dancing dragons had fallen petals on them too. I'm not sure that I would ever join them, but this is a pretty cool event to see. Just then, he sensed someone approaching. He turned to see a young Guardian staring at him. She looks about the same age as me. "Hey stranger," she said in a friendly tone. "Care to dance?" She offered him a small flower. Its vibrant pink petals looked as though it was one of the flowers lying about in the street. She thinks I can dance? Have I ever danced before? "Thanks for the flower, but I don't know the first thing about dancing." He replied. She looked shocked by the reply. Was what I said really that- Suddenly, Onixus found himself being pulled into the crowd by the stranger. Dragons of all kinds danced to the twangy music played by the nearby band. "I- I'm not so sure about this..." he mumbled. "Am I supposed to be all showy or something? How does this even-" He awkwardly tried to mimic some of the dances, but kept tripping on his own tail. As he kept tripping, the Guardian began to laugh at him. Is that all she invited me here for?! A good laugh?! "I told you I'm not good at this. At least I made a good laughing stock." Onixus said sarcastically, still looking for a path out of the crowd. "Wait up a second!" she shouted to him between laughs. "You just need some practice, that's all. You still want to try?" She sounds... sincere. Does she seriously want to dance with me? Even after that? "Alright, but if I knock over someone else, then you're taking the blame." "You got it." The two began a simple dance together, being careful not to bump into anyone. She knows every piece of this square by heart, doesn't she? Not a single bystander collision. Quickly becoming more confident in his steps, Onixus pulled off a few moves. Maybe I'm not that bad at dancing after all. How far can I go with this? He asked Zorrakis, "Want to go further in on the dance floor?" "Absolutely!" she yelled over the noise of the crowd and the band. Dancing all the way, the pair made their way to the center of the town square. The dance felt never-ending, the music playing for what seemed like ages. I can't take my eyes off of her. This dance... I've never experienced something like this. I never would've experienced this at all if it hadn't been for her. I wish it didn't have to end... But end it did. Suddenly, the music stopped, the partners realizing that everyone else had stopped to watch their dancing together. The Guardian looked deep into his eyes as the cheering and clapping from the crowd began.

The sun had set, leaving only lanterns to light the streets with a warm glow. After the dance had ended, Onixus and the Guardian talked for hours about each others lives. What they thought of the Harvest Festival, what they liked, even what they aspired to do someday. Fun can't last forever though. Onixus realized that he had better leave soon, otherwise it would be too dark to fly up to the treetops without crashing into something. Having only just befriended him, she was sad to see him go. Just before leaving the village's borders, he turned around and asked her one last question. "You won't forget me... will you?" "How could I ever forget you? This was one of the best days of my whole life! There has to be some way we can keep in touch..." A way that we can keep in touch while being far apart... "I know! We could become penpals!" He said. We could still send letters to each other. The Viridian Labyrynth isn't that far away. "Yeah. Yeah! Lets do it!"
