Luxisk didn't find this water egg so much as he was conked on the head by it. Literally.

He and his questing party were traversing the Waterway, following rumors of strange creatures haunting parts of Sornieth. Clan leader Mai had sent them on a quest to see if there was any truth to them and see if these creatures posed a serious threat. They'd seen glimpses of ...something, heard odd clunking noises, caught a whiff decidedly unnatural. Luxisk was right on the heel of catching up to one--he was sure of it this time!--when thunk. A barnacled water egg tumbled out of a pipe and right onto his head.
It had cracked open and was covered in green slime. Luxisk panicked, thinking the worst, until a coal and goldenrod floof popped out. Water eyes blinked up at Luxisk. The little tundra hatchling sniffed at him. Then, he burped.

"Well, if that's not a healthy way to greet the world, then I don't know what is," Luxisk noted sitting back on his haunches.
Bariq and the young exalt-to-be training with them caught up with him. They debated over giving up their quest and returning home now that they had a brand new to the world hatchling on their hands. Before they could agree on the fastest way back, baby tundra pounced on something shining in the water.

Whatever it was, he did Not catch it. Instead, the flow of water swept him away and down through the sewer drain. Each of the warriors gave an undignified squeal of horror and abruptly chased after the runaway hatchling.
