WARRIOR, HEAD OBELISK GUARD The leader of the Obelisk guard working under Belrosdarth, Duchess and her other Obelisk Clanmates sit outside the perimeter of the grove, melded in stone. They act as the first line of defense if the clan were to be attacked once more. Most dragons know that Duchess and Lucian are mates, and that she can be a bit of a diva, there isn't too much more to that. She doesn't remain in stone 24/7, and often switches out positions with her guards in order for every one of them to eat and stay full of energy. They don't know when the clan will be attacked, and they need to be on guard all day, every day. |
COMBAT TECHNIQUE
Duchess throws herself into combat with zeal. She'll burn out with furies of slashes and blows to her opponent, trying to wear them down as quickly as possible so her spellcasting allies can finish them off. If she doesn't burn out entirely, she'll quickly rest up under the wing of a tank warrior, before doing it all over again. |
BACKGROUND
Like most Arcane dragons of the clan, Duchess was drawn to the Arcane energy and decided to join the Warriors to help protect this new discovery.
When the second attack struck the clan, Duchess was nearly killed by the first fire of arrows from the Centaur. Although she lived, it left a permanent mark on her soul, and after the battle had concluded she felt obligated to have a first line of defense for the clan.
Once the smoke had cleared and the clan was counting the injured and the dead, Duchess caught Xondrei speaking with Morana and offered something to help the clan. A wall surrounding the clan. Morana spoke up how that would take too long to place and build, and the clan wouldn't have any way to get one up in time. Duchess chimed in with a wall of Obelisks, who could stand guard all day and night when they mold into stone, since they're still aware of what's going on around them.
Xondrei marveled at the idea, and claimed he would think about that idea. A few weeks later, Duchess was declared the Head of the Obelisk guard, and the Head Forager would look for Obelisk Breed change scrolls for Hatchlings to be transformed into Obelisks for the guard.
