The Journeysmiths were late.

Ardwen paced the cave. Its body coiled and writhed in agitation. It rubbed its horns and tusks against the stone walls. Its blind eyes blinked while its third eye remained squeezed shut. In the darkness, sight was useless.

The egg called out to Ardwen. The spiral sprung upon it, wrapping its body around the fragile shell.

Thon must stay warm a little bit longer. Just a little bit longer.
