Calm | Good-humoured | Strong
Jacinda arrived at the lair one rather misty day, perched atop her faithful familiar. She flatly stated that she had heard of the lair and wished to stay. Even Aude, familiar with the odd and somewhat blank nature of Fae and schooled in their body language by Gnothi, was somewhat taken aback by Jacinda's strange demeanour and apparent complete lack of emotion - she did not even use her crests as other Fae would. At any rate, she was welcomed in and given a space of her own, though the clan as a whole found her quite confusing and were a little wary of her.

Jacinda wasn't unpleasant - she would offer to assist others with tasks and clearly wanted to join in the day-to-day workings of the lair - but she would spend large amounts of time in the tea room, both she and the familiar she perched on still as stone, apparently just watching. When spoken to, she would always take a few seconds of silence before she responded. She moved fairly slowly with deliberate movements, like a statue come to life. In the tea room she would greet each visitor and clan member with polite words, but her emotionless staring and prickly appearance (coupled with the silent gaze of her hulking familiar) rendered her somewhat concerning and even mildly threatening to some. Eventually, one of the others worked up the courage to ask her about her behaviour. Jacinda was silent for longer than usual, and then said that in the year and a half since she left her original home, no-one had actually asked her why she was as she was, they had just avoided her or told her she was creepy and asked her to leave.

She told the story of her accident - barely past hatchling age she had been racing with kin through the forest back to their watery home when she had been hit in the head by a huge falling branch. It was deemed a miracle that she survived, but it was not without consequences. She explained her long recovery and her trouble with speech and movement, which is why she has to think before she speaks and why she moves deliberately and slowly, as well as why she is often carried by her faithful familiar. The injury also destroyed much of her ability to express emotion, though she can still feel and understand it. Once she was able to take care of herself she left her home as she couldn't bear the pity - damaged as she was, she was strong and capable, and wanted to be seen as more than just a cripple. She wanted to help others like her, to show those who have suffered that there is a light at the end of that tunnel. When she heard of this lair, she thought this might be the place to do just that. And from that moment she went from being the odd new dragon to an inspiring and respected member of the clan.

Despite what some visitors may think, the last thing the dragons of this clan feel for Jacinda is pity - she is far from helpless. Her practical and positive attitude make her the best manager of crises as she never panics; in fact, she has become the official crisis manager of the clan. Crises are not infrequent here - with many researchers comes many experiments, and more (often rather spectacular) failures than everyone should like to admit. At any rate, with Jacinda at the helm all incidents are resolved remarkably quickly, and with a minimum of fuss. She has shown just how able she is a thousand times over, and if she ever has to travel away from the clan her clanmates worry more about how they'll cope in her absence than about her safety on the road. Her friend Procellanix has been working with her on expression, and she's made a lot of progress - these days she rarely appears frightening to visitors. Gracie the nurse also helps her with speech, as well as being a supportive shoulder on days when Jacinda suffers tremors. She has also become more free and open herself - now she has found a place to belong and knows she won't be pitied or insulted, she isn't so hard on herself if she trips over a word or stumbles when she moves sometimes. She specialises in providing great help to any dragon to whom life has dealt a nasty blow. Though it's hard for her to show it, she has quite a dry and sardonic sense of humour.

Though he does not speak, she gets on well with Ravenstag (some dragons would swear they can communicate with their minds). She plays chess with him as well as with Gnothi. She also spends a lot of time with Micans who helps her with movement, and works with Praesentia to help set up tables and serve tea in the teahouse. She has also begun to help Sky to clear spaces for visitors when she needs a helping claw.
