Biography
Merill entered The Pit by accident. It would make for a funny story if she didn't basically condemn herself to the life and probable death of a gladiator. Being a fairly confident and competent warrior when she came across a flyer seeking those with combat prowess she couldn't resist the temptation of a well paying and stable job. She signed herself up before realizing that the dragons around her were fighting in blood-sports, often to the death.
Fight 1:
Merill was fully prepared for her match. This random street dragon wouldn't be worth her time. At least it'll be an easy way to get her name out there, earn some supporters and hopefully enough coin to buy out her contract. Plus with the added publicity she could find work elsewhere much easier. As the gates dropped and allowed her into the greater arena she almost completely ignored her opponent, Crafty instead choosing to greet the crowd and and encourage them to drop coins into the sand below. As the first few coins hit the dirt she fell with them thanks to a weight on her back. She could feel the claws and teeth digging in, she tried rolling and slashing back, possibly ripping something, but in the end it didn't matter. She didn't take her situation seriously and paid for it.
